Our Mission
At Therapy Haven, our mission is to cultivate a nurturing environment where individuals are guided by a seasoned and practical therapist, fostering personal empowerment. We are dedicated to assisting clients in acquiring new skills, effectively managing challenges, and healing from trauma, all within the framework of compassionate and professional support.
Meet the Therapist
I am Michelle Christoforo, a licensed Professional Counselor and certified trauma specialist. Before stepping into the role of a therapist, I spent over a decade working in victim services gaining valuable experience. This journey paved the way for my current work as a therapist, where I draw on this diverse background to offer comprehensive and compassionate care.
In my practice, I work with children, adolescents, and adults, approaching therapy with a collaborative, person-centered method. I am passionate about assisting clients through life changes, using a trauma-informed, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and strengths-based approach, always acknowledging my clients as the experts in their own lives.
With a strong familiarity with the public safety and military communities, I am well-versed in the unique challenges these sectors face. As a military spouse, I am intimately familiar with the challenges of both active duty and reserve military lifestyles, particularly the impact of deployments on military marriages and families of service members.
